Our newest member, Chris Holmberg, has agreed on short notice to fill in for a speaker who had to cancel this week. He is going to talk about his "day job" as an international risk manager for Liberty Mutual Insurance. His bio (which you saw a longer version of a couple of weeks ago) is shown below:
Mike Holmberg is a Regional Risk Manager with Liberty Mutual Insurance. He is on the company's threat assessment team that manages over 500 threats a year, and oversees physical security and uniformed guard services in the U.S. and internationally. Mike has almost 40 years in the security industry.
In his free time, Mike volunteers as the Team President and is a Human Remains Instructor for MARK9 Search and Rescue based in the Dallas area. Mike is also a K9 handler on the team. Mike has been with MARK9 for 14 years and has been on over 300 missions with his K9 partners, supporting law enforcement on missing persons and cold cases.
New Member: Mike Holmberg! Welcome Mike! It's wonderful to have you join us! And don't you admire how Dan Tatum quickly put Mike to work for another presentation? It's going to be a great presentation! But it will be tough to top Mike's presentation with the Amazing Aspen!
We had a good meeting with the Anne Frank Elementary School Principal, Beverly Ford, and some of her team. We have a date to turn over the systems to them, March 27 at 1PM at the school. Let me know if you want to attend. We're planning to deliver 10 systems that will primarily be used to learn English. Each system will have a chromebook, a headset (earphone and microphone), a carrying case, a charger, a Rosetta Stone license, and a cover sticker that identifies it as belonging to the Anne Frank Elementary School and donated by the Addison Rotary Club. This is a District Matching Grant project. We initially fund the whole project, but we will get almost half back from our district after we successfully complete the project and file the final report.
Mike Pugh and I attended the happy hour with the Addison Noon Rotary Club. Apologies for the short notice; totally my fault. It was a small turnout, but they're nice people, and I had a wonderful time getting to know some of them. Next time we have a happy hour we should reciprocate.
