Notes From David...

We have our Rotary Club Board meeting this Thursday, 7:30AM on zoom. It is open to all members. Let me know if you would like to attend or if you have any items for our agenda.

Our club received a very nice mention on the District 5810 Facebook page about our donation of Language Learning Systems to the Anne Frank Elementary School.

Speaking of the Anne Frank School...they asked if we would be willing to provide box lunches for their Teacher Appreciation Day in May. We are going to do that, thanks to the quick response by Frank Swingle and the Addison Rotary Foundation. And, Jae Park, the owner of Riverstone, the restaurant in our new building, will make the box lunches. I'd like us to give them as much business as we reasonably can. Their food has been excellent!

Our wonderful District Governor, Regina Edwards, emailed some items I want to pass along.

1) The district has a shoe drive in progress, ending May 10. Collecting new and gently used. https://www.rotary5810.org/Stories/rotary-shoe-drive
The last opportunity to drop off is May 10th at the District Roundtable at Dallas College-Brookhaven Campus, Building H Room 125, 3939 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75244

2) Membership! We've mentioned this before, but you get chances to win the Alaskan Cruise raffle for each guest and new member you bring to the club. Details are here: https://rotary5810.org/sitepage/membership-drive  Wendy Seale is tracking and submitting the counts to our district. So...invite potential members and encourage people to join us.  We've enjoyed strong membership growth this year. It would be wonderful if one of our club won the cruise.

The Estate of Wallace Wade continues to give to us.  Wallace owned some property in Mexico that will be sold. We are 12.5% beneficiaries. We're not confident how much we'll receive, but any gift for our club is nice. I am humbled by Wallace's generosity! THANK YOU to Jay Stevenson for reviewing the documents and communicating with the attorneys.

See you Friday!

Make it a great day!
