This Week's Program:
Ann Louden
"You Had Me at Hello: The Connector's Superpower"

Our speaker this week is Dan Tatum's friend, Ann Louden. Her remarks are titled: "You Had Me at Hello: The Connector's Superpower." This is in relation to her upcoming book, "Who Do I Meet Next: Leadership Lessons on How to Become an Unforgettable Connector."  She will also be sharing some anecdotes from her previous book, "Mom...You Just Need to Get Laid: The Adventures of Dating After Divorce," stories about dating in mid-life in New York City.

An accomplished speaker, author, and consultant, Ann Louden is back in Texas this week -- her old stomping ground before she moved to New York City eight years ago. As the founder of Ann Louden Strategy and Consulting, Ann provides counsel to nonprofit chief executives, staff, and volunteer leadership on strategic planning, board governance, and campaign fundraising. Her clients include higher education, healthcare, social services, and the arts.

Prior to becoming a New Yorker, Ann was a much-loved member of TCU's executive leadership team.  During her three decades, Ann wore many (purple) hats, including leading the University's alumni association, $150 million fundraising campaign, and community partnerships.

Best known as the leader and spokesperson for TCU's nationally known "Frogs for the Cure", Ann's personal experience as a breast cancer survivor fueled her passion to advocate for the cause. To promote awareness, education, and hope, Ann created and produced seven full-length music videos filmed around the country, which featured thousands of dancing survivors. Josh Groban, Sony music, American Idol contestants, DFW sports figures, broadcasters, politicians, medical providers and many others couldn't say no when Ann recruited them to join in.

Ann has always been recognized for her expertise at building long-lasting and memorable connections, which is her subject matter for Friday.

Notes From David...

The first meeting in our new home was perfect! The food was delicious, the AV worked well, and the acoustics were wonderful. Overall, the meeting room and the facility convey the casual-but-professional image we want for our club. All of this will help us attract more members. Thanks to everyone who helped with the setup!

Speaking of that meeting, I was delighted to hear from the Anne Frank Elementary School leadership: Principal Beverly Ford and Community Liaison Melissa Martinez. I am excited for more projects to help this amazing school. And I think I heard correctly that Melissa will be joining us as a member. Way to go Wendy Seale for asking!

Looking forward to another great meeting Friday.  See you there!

Make it a great day!
