NOTES FROM DAVID

Finish Strong!
It's not too late to sell more raffle tickets and get sponsorships. Greg Grimm and team have done an amazing job. Let's support them and set a new record.

Did You See The Addison Newsletter?
There was a nice promotional piece about the Addison Rotary Clubs in the City of Addison's weekly newsletter. You can see it here: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Here-s-your-Weekly-Update-from-the-Town-of-Addison-8-22-25.html?soid=1130528633684&aid=nVDXNCKhcq8
That was thanks to Ron Whitehead, our former member, and current President of the Addison Midday Rotary Club.

Oktoberfest
Also thanks to Ron we will have a booth, with the Midday Club, at Oktoberfest. This will be a very fun volunteer activity. More details coming up, but it's another wonderful opportunity to get the word out about what we do and attract more members.

Keratometer For Guerrero
The club board allocated $11,000 for a Keratometer for the Guerrero Clinic.  To support that, John Gilchrist wrote a district matching grant request. (Thank you, John!) That will reimburse us up to $2,500, likely it will be less, but whatever we get back will be great. What's a keratometer?
A keratometer, also known as an ophthalmometer, is an
instrument used to measure the curvature of the cornea, the
clear front surface of the eye. This measurement is crucial for
various purposes, including fitting contact lenses, assessing
corneal astigmatism, and planning eye surgeries like cataract
          surgery.
Also, I appreciate that John Gilchrist stays in touch with the Guerrero Clinic and talks with them about their needs and what we can do. That's important and makes what we do more effective. We should do likewise with the Anne Frank School.  Would one of you be willing to take on that role?

See you Friday!

Make it a great day!

Trivia answer: This "benefactor" insignia, when worn with the Rotary pin, means the member has committed to including Rotary International as a beneficiary of at least $1000 in their will, or has donated $1000 or more to the Rotary Endowment Fund.
