NOTES FROM DAVID
Kristen Merkins should get the creative PR ward for the month! Last Friday she texted me to send her an email and look at the automated response. I did, and this is the automated response:
OUT OF THE OFFICE - GIVING FUTURE LEADERS A LIFT
Thanks for reaching out! I'm currently out of the office this afternoon as I
help transport some incredible soon-to-be high school seniors from a week at
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) - an amazing leadership camp
sponsored by Rotary. It's all part of my work with the Addison Rotary Club,
where we believe in building stronger communities through service and
leadership.
If you've ever been curious about Rotary and how we give back (while having
a pretty great time doing it), I'd love to chat when I return. We're always open
to new members who want to make an impact -- plus we've got great
Breakfast meetings every Friday from 7:30-8:30 am.

How cool and innovative is that? I love it! When people know and understand what we do, some of them will want to join us and become members. PR - getting our story out there - is the key!
Kristen also posted pictures on Facebook of the return trip with our RYLA young ladies, and Randy Lasley, which we shared on the Addison Rotary page. Big thanks to Kristen, Randy, and Laurie for providing the transportation!
A reminder that we will NOT meet on Friday June 20 (because of our installation banquet on the 18th) and we will NOT meet on Friday July 4.
A shout out to Cathy Zelzer for her fascinating presentation last week. Cathy's such a good person; it's no surprise that her "retirement job" is helping others with a therapy dog. And how about Lexi - wasn't she great?
See you Friday!
Make it a great day!
