                Notes From David

Newest and Youngest “Honorary” Member

The Addison Rotary Club is pleased to announce our newest “honorary” member: young Myles Meek, shown here with his father, Taylor.

Myles now has his very own Addison Rotary Club badge, which he is proudly wearing in the photo.  What makes this especially meaningful is that Myles represents the third generation of his family to be involved with the Addison Rotary Club. His grandfather, Bruce Meek, was a beloved member of our club and served as club president.

[Editor's addition: for those of you who didn't know Bruce, here is a photo from a 2013 volunteer event with Bruce and his wife on the right (with BK and Jay, of course)]

I love it when Myles visits us, and it is a delight to celebrate this special Rotary connection across generations.

Shirts!

Keith Einstein is accepting orders for those great Addison Rotary polo shirts by Nike (modeled by Taylor Meek in the picture above). "Our standard color is royal blue. We ask our members to wear these shirts at our service projects and especially at the golf tournament.  If you don't have a shirt, please make sure you order one.

The cost with embroidery will be $50ish. There are both men's and ladies' styles." Size charts follow.

If you would like to order a shirt please send an email to einstein.keith@gmail.com with style preference (men's vs. ladies'), size, and quantity (some people like to have more than one). Please let him know ASAP so he can place the order.

Are You Perfect?

I know, I know, your Mom said you are perfect, but wouldn't you like a certificate to prove it and to show your skeptical spouse? If you have perfect attendance in this Rotary year, you are eligible for the “Certificate of Absolute Perfection” (with respect to attendance)." Remember you can “make up” for the days when you missed a meeting with volunteer events, board meetings, district meetings, training, etcetera, so you might be perfect and not realize it. If you are perfect (with respect to attendance), please email Gary Carby - gcarby10@gmail.com .

Let's Sell Some Raffle Tickets!

Jimmy Perryman and the ARO team are working hard to make sure we have another record-breaking ARO. Last week, Jimmy asked that we sell more raffle tickets. So, let's do it! Contact friends, family, and colleagues and ask them to support kids and families by buying raffle tickets!
