Schalee Sanchez is a fun-loving encourager whose contagious joy brightens every place she enters. Born in Bakersfield, California, she now lives in Farmers Branch, Texas, and is the proud mom of four incredible teenagers -- Alicia, Iliana, Emilie, and Nathan. During eleven years living in Colombia, Peru, El Salvador, and Honduras, she became fluent in Spanish and deepened her love of serving others, exploring new places, and learning new things. Her adventurous side has led her to climb Mt Kilimanjaro and go skydiving numerous times. As a competitive fitness enthusiast, she's known for being a smiling, friendly runner. An injury earlier this year shifted her training to swimming and cycling, giving her opportunities to continue lifting others up. When it's time to relax, you'll find her in the sun by a pool, on a lake, or at the beach, and her favorite treat is dark chocolate. Friends describe her as a bright light, a dedicated athlete, natural encourager, positive influencer, quick learner, courageous overcomer, calm leader, wise parent, humble human, and great friend.
1) Raise more money for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
2) Increase our membership by 15% or more
3) Have more fun
We don't have the final numbers yet, but #1 is done in a big way!
Our membership growth is flat so far this year, but we're going to work on that!
We're doing well on the "Fun Front" - we had a good time at the Awards Banquet, at the Golf Tournament, and our first Happy Hour is this Wednesday 5PMish at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I'm looking forward to seeing you there! We've got a lot to celebrate!
(Remember to take pictures -- we need documentation for the "Fun Club of the Year" award - hahaha!)
Oktoberfest
The committee decided to cancel our participation due to a lack of time to adequately prepare. We're going to look for some other opportunities to serve the Addison community and help people know who we are and what we do.
Board Meeting Thursday 7:30AM
The board meeting is open for all members. We meet by zoom. Let me know if you want to attend or if you have something you want us to discuss. All our minutes and financials are posted on our website.
We have two Community Service events scheduled so far for the fall. Please let Laurie Sutor know if you are interested, or do the sign-up online indicated below.
Texas Trees Foundation
Saturday, October 18, 9:00am to 12:00pm
Juanita Craft park
4500 Spring Ave, Dallas TX 75210
We will be helping others to plant 50 trees in a city park in South Dallas. We will not be required to do any digging or heavy lifting! We will do things like gently separate the root balls and add dirt to the pre-dug holes where the trees are already placed. Gloves and refreshments will be provided. This event is by popular demand as a follow up to one of our recent Rotary meeting programs. Texas Trees Foundation will send out a registration link for us soon, or let Laurie know you want to participate.
The Trains at Northpark
Saturday, November 22, 2:30 to 5:30pm
Northpark Mall
8687 N Central Expy, Dallas TX 75225
Like past years, we will help staff the model train exhibit for Ronald McDonald house at Northpark Mall. You can sign up on Club Runner now or let Laurie know you want to participate. This one's always a lot of fun!
