NOTES FROM DAVID
Board Meeting and Budget
We had our first Rotary Club Board meeting last week. The most significant outcome from the meeting was that we approved our budget. The budget is uploaded into the documents section of ClubRunner in the "Budget" folder. All of you have access to it there.
Some highlights from the budget:
- Income of $66,927
- Based on net membership growth of 15%
- Expenses of $66,913
- Anticipate the purchase of a Keratometer for the Guerrero Clinic in Mexico ($11,000)
(Note from Bulletin editor: A keratometer is an instrument that measures the curvature of the cornea; it can diagnose astigmatism and other corneal diseases)
We ended last year with a surplus of $10,000 and we have a strong cash position. So, I am not concerned with our plan to spend everything we receive in income. Last year we planned to have a deficit but ended up with a surplus because we couldn't execute all the projects we wanted. That could happen again this year.

We have a strong board this year with a nice mix of experienced and newish members. I am excited about what we will accomplish this year.
