Whew! Another GREAT Addison Rotary Open. Congratulations everyone.

We had lots of volunteers (well done, Fritzie!)
Dan and David got stranded on the 6th hole with a dead cart while checking on volunteers.
The chairs and umbrellas are awesome, thank you Gary, Frank, and Jeff.
Our ex-member, Amanda Hickey, and her husband attended.
Cathy kept us all on track with her kind, calm manner.
Jay kept the volunteers happy and hydrated.
The new bags were a big hit (thanks Kristen!)
Everybody chipped in and helped out as needed.

Wendy Seale inducted Hamid Khaleghipour into the Rotary Club of Addison as a new member. Hamid is the Executive Director of Internal Services for the City of Addison. His distinguished service with the City of Addison is an impressive 27 years and spans a vast set of responsibilities. Welcome, Hamid! We are delighted to have you join us!

Yesterday (the ARO) was a long day, but it was also a surprising amount of fun. It was nice to visit with members and guests, and see the golfers have such a wonderful day. Cathy managed to arrange for perfect weather!

Our matching grant project to buy Chromebooks for the Anne Frank Elementary School is on track. The funds were approved by the Addison Rotary Foundation Board, and the matching grant request was submitted to our Rotary District before the deadline. We are now waiting for the approval and to see if there are more matching funds available. I'd like to bundle some stuff with the Chromebooks for the teachers. A local restaurant, The Nest Craft, said they would do a small BOGO for the teachers. Let me know if you have any ideas. I'm hoping we can complete the project in October. Stay tuned...
