  NOTES FROM DAVID

Thank You Card
I decided to send a personal thank you card to the people I asked to donate, buy raffle tickets, and supply auction items. So, I created the picture above to put on the cover of the thank you card. I'm happy to share the edited picture above if you want to use it, just let me know.

Reminder From Last Week
Please download the Clubrunner app from the Google play store or in the Apple app store onto your phone. Look for "clubrunner".

Reminder From A Few Weeks Ago
Please leave a 5-star Google review for Riverstone Cafe - the heroes who keep us fed and functioning every week! They've earned those stars (and possibly sainthood). Don't know how to leave a Google review? Perfect -- google it! Think of this as a valuable life skill for when you craft that scathing review of your cable company.

15 for 5
If you missed my membership presentation (lucky you!) you missed that I suggested we strive for 15% net membership growth for 5 years. The result of this is that we would have about 75 members, and a strong presence for years to come. The probability of club "failure" is high when club membership drops to 20ish members or less, and very low when at 70ish members or greater. We currently have 39 members.

Please invite people you know to join us. It's good for us, good for the community, and good for them. Research shows that people who volunteer or participate in service clubs tend to be healthier, live longer, and report higher levels of happiness and purpose in life. The combination of social connection, community involvement, and meaningful service contributes significantly to overall well-being. So do them a favor and invite them to join the Addison Rotary Club!

Make it a great day!

Check Presentation
Last week at the club meeting, we presented a symbolic check to Rotarian Robert Yudkin, who was representing the Guerrero Clinic, a Rotary-sponsored clinic providing eye and dental care to the indigent citizens of Chihuahua state in Mexico.  This amount of $11,000 will provide a keratometer for the clinic.

ROTARY TRIVIA

The November issue of Rotary magazine has an article about breast milk banks and Rotary's involvement with them in some countries.  Does the United States have milk banks?

Answer is at the bottom of the bulletin.

Trivia answer:  Yes! On a personal note, blood banks like where I used to work, often do the infectious disease screening of the milk bank donors for them.
