Liz leverages years of experience as a nonprofit leader and former attorney to bring a framework for new growth to the ministry of Faith & Grief. Living in the Dallas area for more than 20 years, she is a longtime school district and PTA volunteer. She has championed multicultural adult and family literacy and learning in her nonprofit leadership roles. She has served as a teacher, deacon and elder in her faith community. She is humbled to bring her collective experience to guide Faith & Grief now. She received her BA from Newcomb College of Tulane University and her JD from Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans.

Shelley has served as the program director for Faith & Grief since 2019 and believes we are called to support others as they grieve. Shelley is a charter member of the Suicide Prevention and Brain Health Rotary EClub. She is a certified grief educator with a master's degree in educational technology from Texas A&M Commerce. She is also an ordained Elder in the PCUSA.
We had a wonderful happy hour at Ruth's Chris last Thursday. Thank you Fritzie Roop for arranging. Keep this up and we will win Fun Club.
We had another terrific meeting on Friday:
1) Schalee Sanchez talked about The Humility You Want and the World Needs. Terrific, timely, and useful topic particularly for people trying to be effective in organizations. Bonus: thanks to Fritzie, Schalee is interested in joining us.
2) Greg Grimm did the big ARO reveal. We smashed the record and will give the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas more than $275,000!
3) Taylor Meek brought his son, the adorable and charming Myles to our meeting. I think Myles had a good time, so maybe we're looking at Three Generations of Meeks in the Addison Rotary! Hope so!
And then Saturday morning I got text messages from friends that the Addison Rotary was mentioned in the Dallas Morning News. How cool is that? Thank you, Janet Meyer! See pic below. This is terrific PR!

Texas Trees Foundation

We will be helping others to plant 50 trees in a city park in South Dallas. We will not be required to do any digging or heavy lifting! We will do things like gently separate the root balls and add dirt to the pre-dug holes where the trees are already placed. Gloves and refreshments will be provided. This event is by popular demand as a follow up to one of our recent Rotary meeting programs. Texas Trees Foundation will send out a registration link for us soon, or let Laurie know you want to participate.
