NOTES FROM DAVID
We have our Rotary Club Board meeting this Thursday, 7:30AM on zoom. It is open to all members. Let me know if you would like to attend or if you have any items for our agenda.
We all loved having Principal Beverly Mullins Ford speak to our club. She's impressive! It turns out we're not the only people who think that: she was just named DISD Principal of the Year! Well-deserved!
Monday was Teacher Appreciation Day at the Anne Frank School. We paid for the lunches and, Jae Park, the owner of Riverstone, the restaurant in our new building, made and delivered the box lunches. I know the lunches were delicious and healthy!
We need volunteers for some Club Management. Two of these I've been doing this year. Individually, it's not too much work, but as a whole it's more than we should expect next year from Gene since he has a full-time, demanding job.
1. Website maintenance - 1-2 hours per week
Create new banners. Create and upload club "stories". The website should get some update every week. That will keep us high in the search engine. I will show you what to do.
2. Meeting Audio Visual - 1 to 2 hours per week
a. Update the powerpoint slides for the meeting, inserting the speaker's
powerpoint into our powerpoint
b. Set up the laptop at the meeting. Make sure it is ready to go for the President and speaker. Show the speaker how the clicker works.
c. Close down the laptop at the end of the meeting. Pack the laptop and
equipment and take home.
d. I will show you how this works, the folders we have set up for the presentations, the laptop, etc.
3. Bulletin - 2 hours per week. I think Laurie wants to pass this on to someone else next year.
a. Create an interesting and attractive bulletin and publish it every Tuesday
b. Watch the delivery and open rates.
c. Ensure that everyone in the club gets it every week.
Don't Forget!
1. HAPPY HOUR at Cantina Laredo Thursday evening 5:30 to 7:30. Thank you Greg Grimm!
2. WIN THE ALASKAN CRUISE!
You get chances to win the Alaskan Cruise raffle for each guest and new member you bring to the club. Details are here:
Wendy Seale is tracking and submitting the counts to our district. So...
invite potential members and encourage people to join us. It would be AWESOME if one of our club members wins this!
See you Thursday and Friday!
Make it a great day!
