John also brough a letter about our support of the Rotary Foundation and Annual Fund. Being mindful of time, John didn't review the letter, but I think it's something you should know about and enjoy. Here are some highlights:
- We are one of the "Top Three Highest in Annual Giving" in our district.
- We are one of only 3,800 clubs worldwide to achieve the "Every Rotarian, Every Year" recognition for our 100% participation in the Annual Fund.
- We are one of only 4,600 clubs worldwide to become a "100% Foundation Giving Club" recognition for our 100% participation in the Rotary Foundation.
To put this all in perspective there are 36,000 Rotary Clubs in the world (or 45,000 clubs depending on which Rotary International source you use). In short, we're a great club! You already knew that, but it's nice to have outside confirmation. Let's keep building and growing!
Anne Frank Elementary School Project
It was incredibly gratifying to give the 10 Language Learning Systems to the Anne Frank Elementary School! John Johnstone attended. He was on the team that presented the first computers to the school 22 years ago. The funding for the Language Learning Systems came from our club and from a district matching grant, which is also in a convoluted way from our club. There's a bit of paperwork involved with the district grant, but it's worth it to be able to use the funds.
Bring Your Brag Bucks!
Some people have been on spring break. Some people have been traveling. Some people have a sister whose book was just published. Some people have been wine-tasting. Some people moved. Some kids and grandkids have been recognized. The "brags" have been a bit quiet lately; let's hear your stories!
