Addison, TX – The Addison Rotary Club is proud to announce it has been named Club of the Year by Rotary District 5810. The award was presented at the District Awards Banquet on September 4, 2025, recognizing the Club’s extraordinary progress, service, and impact over the past Rotary year.

As the Addison Rotary Club celebrated its 40th anniversary, members focused on growth, innovation, and strengthening community partnerships. With a renewed emphasis on membership, financial stability, and impactful service, the Club achieved an impressive 15% increase in membership, expanded diversity, and significantly strengthened its financial position.

Among the Club’s Accomplishments:
  • Fundraising Leadership: The Addison Rotary Open, the Club’s annual golf tournament, raffle, and auction, raised over $300,000, resulting in a record $216,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, supporting families with critically ill children.
  • Education Initiatives: Partnered with Anne Frank Elementary School, providing 10 Language Learning Systems through a District Matching Grant and sponsoring a Teacher Appreciation event.
  • Community Engagement: Strengthened ties with the Addison Midday Rotary Club through joint events such as a Police/Fire Pancake Breakfast and shared social gatherings.
  • Youth Development: Sponsored students for Camp RYLA and reestablished youth participation programs, including hosting an exchange student from Japan.
  • International Service: Contributed to global efforts with projects in Nicaragua and the Congo, while also supporting Rotary International’s campaign to End Polio Now.
  • Club Innovation: Introduced digital tools such as a weekly e-bulletin, refreshed website, and social media campaigns to expand visibility, recruit members, and improve transparency.

“This has been a transformational year for our Club,” said David Heimer, President of the Addison Rotary Club. “Our members set out to build a foundation for the next 40 years. Winning this award is not only an honor—it’s a reflection of our commitment to service, innovation, and community impact, both locally and globally.”
